MUSEUMS / ARCHIVES / EXHIBITIONS

“Art is not always about pretty things it’s about who are we, what happened to us, and how lives are affected.”

Elizabeth Broun.

Whenever I got a chance to visit any museum, the words quoted above, always continued to capture my active memory either it is a Lok Virsa museum Islamabad or Lahore Meusuem , Nankana Saab Janam Ashtan Guru Nanak,Texila museum or Rohtas Fort Museum Jhelum, and many more I have visited and recorded for my Son’s YouTubechannel,a list of many historic places which surely got off my mind during this journey .

Facts and figures always catches my attention while recording the history and I am always disappointed to observe that we have not preserved the history ,the way it should have been which has contributed the loss of national heritage and all this is happening so very quickly

It’s high time to create an archive for the record of our history and heritage of Pakistan.

http://www.citizensarchive.org/ is a pleasant finding of day which is a center of education, heritage and culture.it collects Pakistan’s stories, digitize history and also launch oral history of Pakistan.  It is bringing that history to the front which is not taught in books.

Yet it also offers another history to explore. The grand palace that houses the museum, the most innovative architects have in turn built and developed the Louvre. It allso gives you an overview of the scope and richness of the museum’s collections. Another interesting feature of this website is A “Closer Look” interactive multimedia modules allow you to see the details of an artwork through a magnifying glass, while commentaries and animations give you its historical and artistic background.

It records examples of photographs portraying people of African, Caribbean and South Asian descent taken during the Victorian era in Britain. Another depiction of this

Victoriansupremacy is picturized in a film The Black Prince based on a Sikh Prince.

This movie reminds me the Sikh culture which I happened to witness and record at janam ashtan guru nanak at nanakna saab district of Punjab.
